As I'm sure some of you know, I'm a fan of the Mamiya/Sekor Super Deluxe rangefinder. I stumbled on this a few minutes ago, it's an obvious rebadging of the SD.

Anyone ever heard or seen of this one?

(I already googled "majamatic" with nothing meaningful.)

Cant find any evidence but considering the name MAJA and its origins being in Europe its possible this could be a region specific model potentially named to appeal to the region? Simular to how canon used Ben and Howell as its US distributor.

Just a guess

Might be Spanish language origin. The Urban Dictionary says this:

Maja is an awesome person with lots of energy and comes with an absolutely splendid sense of humor. Boys always fall head over heels for the fantastic Maja. The special thing about the Maja is that she looks good at any angle. So she is very easily recognizable, no doubt about that. The Maja attracts only hot men who are very intelligent.

Also, the numbers on the camera looks like it was a rebadging by just a couple of pieces of tape. 1.3 million has to be just Mamiya Sekor numbers.

I have a Petri that looks a little like this and the top view meter is very helpful.

My initial guess was that "Maja" might have been intended to be pronounced "My-A", like J being a vowel in this case, being similar in pronunciation to Mamiya.

well, FWIW, one response to a similar question in 2015 on Flickr elicited that it was at least offered under that name in a Dutch magazine or newspaper in the 60s...

Here's a response I got from the poster of that photo:

dmroma It was sold in the netherlands, apparantly. {sic} I've taken the nameplate off, it says Mamiya underneath! Unfortunately the shutter of mine is stuck....
