Malaysia Holiday - too bright for ISO 100 ?

Help from Californians !?

Would I need a neutral density filter for my Sony 35m and old Rokkor 35-70 used on a Sony A35/A290 ? I assume that the A290 will be most used due to the EVF of the A35 .
I am content with that as the colour rendering of the 14mp CCCD plus Rokkor suits me perfectly - and I don't need an all dancing camera having graduated from SRT !

Using the Sunny F16 rule.

ISO 100 = 1/125 at f16 in bright sunlight. If your camera can do that, or matched combinations thereof (1/250 at f11, 1/500 at f8 etc) you are ok.

I think you camera has a 1/4000 top speed. That would be 1/4000 at f 2.8.

I was shooting in Malaysia for two and a half years using tri-X at 400 asa in Leica (mentioning the camera as it's max shutter speed). All is excellent, occasionally over exposing and under developed but only for arty-farty purposes.

I am from Malaysia and have only been shooting ISO 400 when I am back home. So I would think ISO 100 is going to be fine but you might miss some opportunity to take images indoors / markets / hawker stalls

I remember when ASA 100 were slow films. sigh

I sure wouldn't worry about that ASA/ISO. Just follow your experience and the advice above.

Thanks everyone , I shall just take it as it comes - and the A35 shoots at higher ISO for inside shots .

I think that in Malaysia they have a King, and if the King decides you can only go up to 25 ISO, this indeed could be a problem.
