Thoughts on who will look at, and possibly repair, a Mamiya 6 these days? I'm in SF Bay Area.
Yeah yeah I know. No parts, etc. I am hopeful it's not a broken part.

As I recall, there was someone in the Chicago area who was able to repair a Mamiya 6. I was thinking of sending my Mamiya 6 to him but never did.
Perhaps some other RFF member can provide the name and contact information for this person and if they are still in business.
Hope that helps.

Cheers, another Mamiya 6 shooter from the Bay!
Last time I inquired about repairs for my own Mamiya 6 I was directed here. Never ended up sending it in, so I can't speak to the quality of work, but I've only ever heard good things.
edit: pretty sure this is the contact ornate wrasse is referring to as well.

Precision recently did work on my Mamiya 7. They do great work over there.

J enea: if you don't mind me asking, how much was it for the service? I remember getting a quote from him before, but can't find the email and this thread is making me consider sending in my Mamiya 6 for preemptive service before my winder fails.

Great! Sounds like I'm sending the camera to Precision Camera Works!
Thanks for the help. I know the 7 is a great camera, but there's something I just love about the 6.

$440 that included shipping with $2500 insurance. Not bad for a rebuild on the winder. Have you seen what people are asking now for Mamiya 6/7 lately? insane

Thanks for the reply. That is a great value considering the cost of a new used Mamiya RF system. I've been on again off again looking for a Mamiya 7 and its absolutely staggering, just a few years ago you could pick up either for a little under $1k.
