Hi all,
So I recently purchased a mama 645 pro kit on eBay and the condition is excellent. However, when I'm doing test shots, I realized that in all of my shots, there is this line which divides the photos into two different exposures. What could possibly be the cause of the problem?
Please see photo attchached. If this is a shutter problem, I will just return the camera. I do like the kit a lot so if there is any easy way to work around it that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

It looks like the shutter (which does travel horizontally). Before you return the camera, you might want to inspect whether there is something (usually a fragment of paper tape) obstructing the shutter rails - that is a common issue on medium format cameras.

I just picked up a Mamiya 645 Pro kit too off ebay! My test roll is out being processed, will get it back Thursday...
Yours definitely looks like a shutter issue.

If its uneven exposure, shouldn't the change be kind of gradual instead of a definite line? also I just scanned another roll, the line this time is lighter, and on the other side of the frame...

To have an exposure difference this big ,if it is the shutter, you should be able to hear it.
Did you try dry firing at all the speeds?
Does it show in the negative to?

Do you see it on the negative examining it with a loupe? I would check the film directly thus eliminating the possibility that it is the scanner.

I can indeed see it on the scanner. I have the power winder so won't be able to dry fire the camera. I honest didn't hear anything abnormal about the shutter.
What bothers me is that this line is on different locations with different rolls, but within the same roll its consistent. They do show on the neg.

I did check my neg, the line is there.

Remove the winder, set the camera to "Multi", reattach the winder, and you are set...

That worked, thanks.Remove the winder, set the camera to "Multi", reattach the winder, and you are set...
Just detached film back and fired a couple times. There is no weird sound but I did notice that the second curtain has slight wrinkles on it. Could this be the culprit?
