Hi guys, I've recently bought a Mamiya 7 and have run two rolls of film through it so far. Problem is not so much the spacing between frames but the alignment at the top and bottom, it seems the image on the negative is a little too much at the top, so where ILFORD Delta is written on the film for example it is actually coming onto the image a bit. I've only shot 6x6 previously so I've never seen this before but I would think 6x7 should just be wider horizontally. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? or is a fault with the camera? It does say in the manual to make sure the roll is not loose as that can cause alignment problems, but it says something weird like check it's winding on properly after the door is closed which doesn't make a lot of sense. The only other thing I can think of is the spool button which pops out when you put a new film in wasn't pressed in, but I'm pretty sure I did this with both rolls, I think I did anyway.

Any help would be great.

I think not having spool button pushed in could certainly do this. If I were you, I'd shoot one more roll, being very careful about doing everything by the book. If you still have a problem then consider asking someone to take a look at it.

As long as they align correctly when loaded, there should be nothing to worry about.
