Hello,
Yesterday my Mamiya 7 arrived. I am really happy with it but I am not sure if my finder is broken. Is it normal that if I look through it straight it has a slight magenta color cast? If I look at the left edge the viewfinder gets a strong blue cast and if I look at the right edge then it's clear. Is that normal? If not: what could be causing it?

Can't say that my Mamiya 7 exhibits any of those colour casts, however does it in fact focus accurately?

It's polarised, so although mine doesn't have a colour cast it can look different in certain conditions.
As long as it focuses enjoy it and the big negs.

Agree that if it focuses accurately, enjoy it and the 6X7 negs. Mine hasn't yet exhibited any color shifts.

Mine is clear. But you won't see anything with polarised sunnies on

It focuses correctly, I am just confused because I never saw a viewfinder do something like this and the seller said that the camera has no faults.
I made a video to show you how it looks like.

It should be OK. I have had trouble getting used to RF:s that needs my eye to be in exact spot for the patch to be visible. I still occasionally miss the illuminated shutter times below the frame area now and then. As mentioned, do not use polariods

"it's fine" is not the same as "it's exactly as it ought to be".
it sounds like something is off with the polarization. like John said it should appear clear.

Hmm. I am confused.
I called a Mamiya technician today and he said that it's normal. But he also said that he didn't know that the Mamiya 7 viewfinder was polarized so I don't know how trustable he is. I wish I had another Mamiya 7 I could compare it with but I know no one with one near me. This doesn't bother me that much, but I paid for a fully functional camera so I am a bit sad that it has a fault.

I have a 7. This is completely normal, don't worry about it.

I was thinking yours must be off, until I went and grabbed my 7ii. You know, I have never noticed the magenta cast until now! Mine is fine, so this must be the way it is. Maybe it helps with contrast in the RF patch.
Enjoy you camera! It is the best! I just got the 150mm to go along with my 80mm. I'm siked!

Read the last line in the Meter section. I think this will address your concern.
