Mamiya 7ii Shutter

Hello RF Forum,

I was looking for some advice regarding a shutter issue on my Mamiya 7ii (with 80mm).
I've put in a fresh battery and tested dry fires with the back open. However once the back is closed, I am only able to fire with Multiple Exposure on. What system issues does this suggest?

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys,

None, this is normal behaviour assuming you have no film loaded.
Without film you can only fire the shutter with the back open or in Multi Exposure mode when the back is closed.

I probably sound like an idiot now haha. I actually had this problem whilst there was film in the camera. The curtain wasn't closed lens didnt seem to be the problem etc however i scrapped the film in order to see what was wrong. Perhaps I was still doing something wrong so when I get home I will test with a new roll.
