I'm looking for a cable/shutter release for a "Type 3" 6x9 120 back as used on the Mamiya Press system. I've searched the information superhighway with less-than-super results. Local camera shops haven't been much help either.
Aside from some other benefits, I've found that the Type 3 allows the shutter release to be mounted on the actual film back. The camera body this back is being mounted on is not a Mamiya Press camera and does not have a handle with a built in release nor a mount for a standard cable release, so any help tracking down one of these cables would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know of a real Mamiya nut who might know something about these shutter releases? A phone number... anything?
Thanks,
Jonathan

NOT Tony Sansone the body builder...Anthony Sansone (tony) often referred to as the Guru of the Mamiya Press. He used to advertise in the Older "Shutterbug" classifies. Hard man to run down, but he pops up now and then. I did actually communicate with him at one time.
I had one of these backs but never did figure out the shutter release. I thought this would be an excellent back for a modded early press body.

Wow. Found him. Called him. Nice guy. Sells extra virgin olive oil as well. "Best in the world."
Thanks again, kuzano.

Glad to be of assistance to both of you....

I suspected David might have a Mamiya Press kit, and when he says Mint, he means it. Everything he has ever sent me has been exceptional, or he tells you otherwise.
I presume, Jonathan that you found Tony. Did he have the remote cable or release for that back you own? If not, did he know how it works.... that's always been a puzzle I never resolved.
Thanks for the thanks guys.

Yes, talked to Tony and he had everything for the Mamiya Press but the cable release. However, he knows someone who has one. I'll let you know how it works out.

It's a special cable, threaded at one end, to fit the lens, and has a unique metal casing at the other, slotted so that the type 3 grip can hold it securely.
