Hey folks! I’m a long time film (and I should say, digital shooter (gasp!)) and I’ve recently taken the plunge into medium format shooting with the giant boat anchor know as the Mamiya RB67. Wow! What a freaking awesome camera and the images it captures is astounding! I’d love to take my photos a step further with my landscape photography. I’ve got a 100mm 4x4 filter holder with a 77mm step ring along with the necessary filters. Here’s my issue or question for you. The issue is that the threading on the step ring is fairly fine which most all new lenses has a fine filter threading. The older Mamiya RB67 has a course filter thread. Is there anything I can do like a filter thread adapter for a course thread to fine thread adapter? I’d love to be able to control the exposure better.

Not an easy read with Tapatalk.

But, hi.

And, get yourself another filter holder. I use the Cokin P system on the RB67 and all Cokin mounting rings are a perfect fit on the lenses.

Happy shooting!

I have an RZ and all my filters from my DSLR fit fine. I'd not heard that the RB was that different, I'll make sure to not get an RB lens should the opportunity arise.

I have a RB67 and using the K/L 1:3.5 f=90 MM L and it takes off the shelf standard filters. In my case I am using a Canon 77mm PROTECT filter because I had an extra. It also accepts a Kenko 77mm YA3 and P00 as well as the PENTAX 77mm Y2.

Maybe the issue is lens specific (?). What lens are you using?

Guys, the issue is filter holder specific.

All lenses are similar and all have more coarse thread than the filter holder has.

There is no adapter from 77mm fine to 77mm coarse thread, so another filter holder is the only way to go.

Thanks, folks.

I’ve got several of the Sekkor C lenses and they all seem to have a course filter thread.
