Hi Rick: Yes, it is in FD mount. I first sreached for this much wanted lens in any mount, considring to get the lens and then buy a camera for it, but I lucked out one day and I found an FD mount lens. It is a super lens. At the time it was released it cost about $450 but it did not sell well due to its cost and weight.

Well, I fell off the wagon. I was offered a Coolpix 5000 (5MP with 28-85mm lens) at a price that was too good to refuse. It makes a nice complement to my Bessa R ... I can fit both in the bag or around my neck and they're still not as heavy as the dSLR.

I never took the pledge, but I was thinking I could make it through. I needed a 55mm yellow filter, so put in a bid for an Olympus filter (slim), NOS from the OM days. When I didn't win the auction, I was a bit relieved that I'd been cheap. But then I got a "second chance" notice from Olympus saying they had more stock and I could buy at my maximum bid. So what was I to do? Hey, it's just a filter, not a camera or lens. I don't think that counts!

Brian: I sent a personal check and it still has not cleared, so I am waiting.
Since we are talking about the RFF Church, which equipment do you recommend for photography of a belly dancer in a church? This is not a joke. I will most likely attend with my wife a night of Middle Eastern music with a singer anda belly dancer performing in a church community center. I bet, all my photos will be out of focus; wiggly wiggly!

Fastest lens that you have, wide-open, vary the shutter-speed for "free-action" and some with "motion blur" for effect.

I used my 35/1.8 for the last live-performace show.

And tomorrow, Raid's first sermon:
"In the Beginning ~ The Creation of Black & White Photography."
"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."
(Genesis 1:3-4)

Oh my God! We now have sermons and preachings here! What if the pinhole camera with photographic paper came before the B&W film? The egg or the chick ...?

Brian: I agree with you on the fast lens issue. I am now wondering whether to keep things light and functional (using a 35mm/1.8 lens) or fancy with a 85mm/1.2L lens? Telephoto vs wide angle. I bet, the 35mm is better suited.

Uncle Bill, good choice! I did not take the pledge, but I thought budgetary constraints would restrain me sufficiently.... But last night I could not resist hitting the Buy It Now button and there's a Pentax heading my way too! May we both enjoy... 🙂

The GAS Prayer:

May Ansell and Edward smile upon your negitives.
May the sprits of Henri and Weegee help you find the moment.
At the rising of sun we bow to east, to Canon, Konica, Yashica and Nikkor.
At the setting of the sun we bow to the west, to Hassleblad, Lietz and Zeiss.
And the land between the east and west to Zorki and Fed and Kiev.
To light and lens.
Amen.

March is over! Spend all you have on lenses and cameras and .... and empty all bank accounts and purses and let things "happen" here! Thanks for humoring me and for making my initial posting a widely spread "commitment".
