March, Nikon RF Month!

Jan, beautiful shots! Nice tones, what film/developer if I might ask?

Here's my contribution for today. I live in a pretty boring city without a bit of "street" life. I instead went and visited the cemetery. These were taken on my Nikon SP with either 50mm f/1.4 "Millennium" or 2.8cm f/3.5 black barrel lenses, on Plus-X, developed in Acufine:

Nice work Tom, Chris and Corran.

To Corran, thanks, the film used was Fomapan 200 exposed as 100 and developed in WD2D+ for 8 minutes. Not the finest grain but it gives good tonality. Harvey's Panthermic 777 works really well with this film to.

Comments appreciated.
Harvey's 777 ? Germain formula or have Bluegrass actually made some recently?

Chris, Harvey's 777 from Bluegrass. Not sure if they still make it, i have heard somewhere that the demand had declined so much that it was not worth making it anymore.
I have 5 or 6 1 gallon bags so will be set for some years to come. The jug i am working on was mixed 2 years and 3 months ago and still going strong.

I would be willing to buy more if Bluegrass would make another batch.

Thanks for the info Jan. I'm not usually a fan of Foma but neither have I used that developer. Do you find that the negatives curl a lot? That was the thing that really turned me off Foma products; the awful curl made scanning a pain in the butt and never was flat enough. This was with 120 film though.

I suspect if they did I would have trouble getting it shipped to the UK. If they never intend making it again it would be a kindness to release the formula. Never is a stretch though :D

Both Fomopan 100 and 400 that a am currently uses (35mm) dries perfectly flat - as good as Kdak Double X .It is a thin base though and it easy to "kink" the film when handling it - and once that is done it is difficult to get back in shape. My Nikon Coolscan just spits the strip back out - grumbling about it.

The 35mm and the 120 i think are coated on different materials, don't remember what is what but, the 35mm dries completely flat similar to what Tom is saying about the 100 and the 400
I don't remember seeing a film more flat than the Foma 35mm which makes scanning a lot easier, not that it is my preferred method but needed for sharing here.

Will load up the S2 later and post the best here by next week.

If anyone in this thread buys David Vestal's S2/5cm off eBay--currently at a very reasonable bid--you should feel karmically compelled to contribute something from it (and from you, channeling DV), though not necessarily one of his test strip subjects (I'm thinking of the church in New Mexico)....

Thanks again for the info Jan, and Tom. I might have to pick up a bit of it if I start running low on 100-speed films. Still got 30 rolls or so of Plus-X and T-Max 100.

Ive got a grab bag set up for this months shooting.
Here's what I'm looking forward to burning :)

8x Tmax P3200 (36)
5x Tmax 100 (36)
3x Tri-x 400 (36)
4x Fuji Superia 400 (24) c41

That's 20 rolls starting the 9th.
Hope I'll have time to develope before the months end!

Really looking forward to shooting both the 50/1.4 and 35/1.8 on my S2!
We should start a new thread for photo posts only, lovely shots gentlemen!

Some of the last from the 3.5cm f1.8, heavy testing on the new lens. This with Fomopan 100 which seems faster than that, anyone found that?
Was sunny sixteen so could be me but was consistent across the roll. The bike was one of the few on so should probably have been under, hope you are following this :D
