Well, I took the plunge on a Minolta MC 58mm f1.2 Rokkor PG for my X Pro-1. I plan to use it with a Metabones Speed Booster to get the full frame "look" and to take advantage of the creamy bokeh this lens can offer. I do have a Noctilux but I cannot get a full frame look unless I buy the A7R. Problem is I love my Fuji X Pro-1 and am not in the mood to blow extra money, especially when we all know there will be new full frame products coming in the future, and despite denials, I am sure Fuji will give us a full frame X Pro model. So I thought, what the heck, give the Minolta a shot. I am no stranger to Minolta in that when I first started photography in 1980, my first setup was an X700, a 50mm, and a 24mm. In fact, my X700 was used for my masters thesis work at Pratt Institute from 1989-1991. After that I started using Leica (M6, and then M8 years later). So I would love to hear from any of you who have the MC 58mm f1.2 PG and use it on any Fuji X series camera. Share your words and photos!

Here is a pic of the 58mm Rokkor 1.2 I won on Ebay. Sr # 2002452 and Rokkor is spelled Rokko R with a space. An early production number according to the seller. This was used by Minolta to check focus on SLR bodies in Miami Fla. Aperture blades may need a clean, but glass looks clear and focus is smooth according to seller. $340 USD. My Christmas present to myself!

Rokkor glass gives lovely images on the X bodies. And you have great choices for adapters: cheapie no-glass adapters that'll give you a great 85/1.2 portrait lens, or the Speed Booster types that give you a super fast, full frame focal length 58/1.0 'noctilux'!
I may follow your lead and look around for one of these as well. :)

Actually, I believe a f1.2 should be a f0.95 on via speedbooster. I get a full stop better on my Nikon 50f1.4.

Lovely lens, I have been using mine on Sony NEX 7 and 6 and now on A7 with lovely results.
This lens do deserve pictures thread in mirrorless section no matter if used with Fujifilm, Sony, Samsung or other..

It is amazing we have these new tools today where we do not have to spend thousands to get the results we want! F 0.95 is amazing! Now i have the less expensive Chinese made speed booster which I will test later today when the lens comes in the mail. If the Metabones version is significantly better, maybe I will get one. Would be nice to see the Minolta 58mm f1.2 with the Metabones Speed Booster images with 100% crops for detail.

$340 is a bargain price for that lens. If your 58mm MC F1.2 blades are really oily, I would recommend Greg Stelz (he is in Durango, Colorado). He did a great job cleaning and rebuilding my 58mm MC F1.2, which had been dropped at some point. He charges $90 to -completely- disassemble, lubricate, and calibrate any MC Rokkor lens. Highly recommended, he's my main Minolta technician now.

Just an FYI then..

This blog site has review of both the 'lens turbo' and the speedbooster.

Well, I am impressed. Not bad for an old Minolta 58mm f1.2 and the lens turbo!
