the cost to make a more technically powerful camera is about 17 cents, so in theory it's basically worthless.
only one camera is Miley Cyrus' camera, I suppose, it's worth is fundamentally different from another camera that is otherwise equivalent.

The cameras being cheaper where? In my experience, US prices were about a quarter to a third lower than in Europe or Japan - so the market protection probably worked the other way around.

I suspect this camera is something that was bought for her when she was a fair bit younger by her parents possibly and she's just sick of seeing it sitting on a shelf collecting dust.
I have to say I don't mind her too much ... she's very young and decisions made at this age aren't always something you look back on with fondness.

When I was a young man I tried never to make disparaging remarks about "old fools" because I had already realized that such comments are reflected straight back at you. In other words, when a young man calls an old man an old fool he is revealing himself as a young fool, and when an old man calls a young man a young fool he is revealing himself as an old fool.

I'm pretty sure they've reached the apex of their infamy. Unless of course they happen to suffer an untimely death which cements their fame eternally at whatever level it is now.
I have to wonder if anybody knows of anybody else's famous cameras being sold (non-photographers of course).
