hi

does anyone know if this lens and its protruding 'backside' can work properly (with adapter) on the gxr m nount without damaging the sensor?
thanks
tony

Don't know about the GXR but I have this lens, and it will not fit on my Nex 3 bodies, due to the shape of the body interior.

It does work just great with film! I really like the lens for that purpose. It's sharp, low contrast, and illuminates evenly even in the corners.

None of our local used camera dealers have ever seen one. A true collector's item.

thank you guys. the seller said it fit into the gxr 'lens tester', but i'm trying to confirm he 'tested' it at infinity/full extension.

nokton48: does the lens protrude more at infinity?
thanks
tony

thank you so much, thats a valuable piece of info!

any idea on a proper price for this lens? over/under $400 usd?
tony

$300-$400 is a good price w/o finder. I use this lens on a Leica Standard most of the time.

Yes, this lens is excellent overall. I got a good copy of it.
Eddy Smolov removed the flower shaped wrap at the back of the lens elements so that it would fit on the Leica without vignetting.

I paid $385 for mine with SRT Viewfinder, Lens, and a black Mint SRT101 body. I had John Titterton overhaul the lens for another $40, as it could have used some lubrication.

I paid even less for lens but without the finder, but I see this set often sold at higher prices. I use a Minolta-Leica adapter with it.

i wonder if theres a way to convert that srt vf into a regular hot shoe mount....

Very Possibly.

Here is my Minolta SRT 21mm Finder, from the back. Four screws hold the finder top on from underneath, they are covered with adhesive foam padding. I know that, because my finder was "chattery" when I got it, so I tightened the four screws, and re-foamed the interior of the finder shoe.

It may be possible to attach it to an old flash-block "cold-shoe" if you are handy, or know a good photo repair person who can adapt things.

Or buy a Cosina Voigtlander 21mm finder (made of plastic!)
