Minolta CLE

CLEs are very reliable, except for the common shutter speed contact issue which is a simple fix.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

My parcel arrived today! The CLE looks much better than the seller's description. What a wonderful viewfinder and 28mm framelines! I took a few shots outside and just set it to sunny 16 on manual. I think I'm going to like it. Hope it lasts without breaking.

Pictures, please!! Always wanted one and interested in how you find it.

OK, just what IS that simple fix? I've never been able to find out just what I have to clean in order to make the "dancing LEDs" go away. Can someone tell me? Thanks!

I wear glasses so a bit of room for the 28mm frame is just right.. My next wider lens is a cv21.

My high expectations of the CLE were not disappointed.

Best 28mm framelines ever.

Just remember that top and bottom are plastic, so don't knock it around too hard.

Enjoy !

Roland.

from the other thread: "The solution is well-reported in CLE posts on this forum. The dancing lights are the result of poor contact on wipers beneath the shutter speed dial. The dial needs to be removed and the contacts cleaned."

Hi,

You don't, imo. Take it to a technician who can do it and has the proper tools to do it without scratching the body etc. And get the rest of it checked, not because they are unreliable but because of their age.

Regards, David

Thanks, Frank, that will be good reference for the next time those electrical contacts need cleaning! Seems to me it's been needed every 4 years or so...
