Hi,

The other day I picked up a Minolta 7000 with a 28-85 f3.5/4.5 and 70-210 f4 for pennies. I checked the lenses on the internet. Both zooms have good reputations. They work on Minolta and Sony dSLRs. Thereafter, I checked the prices on the Minolta Maxxum 7D. I was shocked to see the camera holds its value quite well after 10-years after its appearance on the market. It has a cult following.

Anyone using or have used the Minolta Maxxum 7D? I would like to get RFF members feedback on the camera. I am not to interested in Sony's dSLRs, except for it latest offering, which are out of my price range.

Again your thoughts on the Minolta Maxxum 7D's

1. Image quality
2. Handling
3. Features
4. etc.

Thanks,

Mike

KEH lists a EX Maxxum 7D for $225, which seems typical for a semi-pro body of that era. Maybe a bit high, probably partially due to it being less plentiful than it's contemporary Canon and Nikon counterparts.

They also have a Euro-version of the 7D for $189. I say "buy it" and report back to us what you think. 🙂

Seriously, looks like a cool camera if you're good with 6 megapixels. You can probably always resell for what you paid if you don't like it.

Thanks. I have never bought from KEH. I moved back the NA from Japan, so I have never needed to check KEH before. Thanks again. Now, I must ponder!
