Despite my problems, quite pleased with the results from the 101 and 55 1.7 MC II
Have a 35mm 2.8 MC I and 58 1.4 MC II (with another 101 attached to it) coming in the post.

One trend that I have noticed it the the prices for Rokkor manual focus lenses are up.

This is true for every 'serious' lens system that I'm aware of (Pentax/Takumar, Nikkor, Canon, OM Zuiko, Rokkor, Leica M, etc. etc.).

I think it's a combination of the renewed interest in film (bodies are going up as well) and the huge interest in adapted lenses for digital stills and video.

This is my family's SRT-101, it has been used by three generations of my family. Purchased by my father in 1968, my sister used it in high school as a yearbook photographer and by my nephew and niece for a photography class. I just got it back last year and will be sending it to John Tillerington for a CLA. Attached to the body is a somewhat rare 100mm f3.5 Rokkor.

You got to love Minolta cameras, last December I picked up a mint SR-1S, 55mm f1.7 MC Rokkor and case for a $4.99, the cost of shipping was more that the camera.

In addition to my story and SRT-101 photos in post #723, not very long ago I was gifted this wonderful SRT-201 powder coated in olive green.

This satisfies the Leica R3 Safari lust I used to have.

Yes - I know a longtime camera-repair guy who has just started both powdercoating and re-skinning cameras. I was astonished he gave me this as a gift!

Don't think I have posted this before...

This was my grandfather's SR-T 102. Bought new by him in the 70s, it's still in pristine condition.

Colton, the SR-T 102 is my favorite of the SR-Ts, provided it has the mirror lock-up (MLU).

This model was only produced from 1973 to 1975, and somewhere during that time Minolta eliminated the MLU in both the 101 and the 102. I'm guessing your grandfather's camera is from 1973 or 1974.

Thanks Murray. Yes, this is one) of the earlier MLU versions.

Me too, buddy. Though slightly off topic, I do want to watch Johnny Depp's new movie and support him after the ridiculous lawsuit and the aftermath he suffered.

And what a cool 101 you have! It took me a while to find a black one with mirror lock up. Your f/8 lens can only be used with mirror lock up right? Love the leather, too.

I am sorry for geeking out on you, but what is the string wrapping around the shutter button?
