Minolta SRT's -- Gotta Love 'Em.

Minolta SRM 80cm F8 Rokkor SRM Release by Nokton48, on Flickr

The SRM is dusted off asnd losded with Ultra Duracells and 36exp ERA100 film. Testing the lens out in Key Day Direct Sun. 1/250 F8 and 1/125 F8 to give myself a choice. Notice the SRM Long Version Electronic Release; All this works very well in the cold outside moderate wind

I refocused after each shot, DOF non-existant. Got some cool donuts

That's a rare combination there: rare SRM and rare 800f/8

Thanks

Yes it's all in Joseph Cooper's "Minolta System Handbook". All original SRT vintage equipment. Fun to collect. Next big project is 250 Exposure SRM Back new in box never used Needs CLA Needs all new light trapping will be big job. Have Minolta Cassettes (bunch of them) and Minolta Film Loader. Eastman movie film. Fun ahead

For a long time, i thought that the black OM-1 was the most beautiful SLR ever made. I just got hold of this one and i find the quality of the paint and overall feel as exquisite. Possible the most beautiful SLR i've seen. Slightly smaller and lighter than the SRT-303. I just need to find a matching 55f/1.7 - the Macro Rokkor is good but makes the view finder too dark. Interestingly enough - it has a split rangefinder screen installed. Possibly was sent for service at some point and was upgraded.

Well, that’s yours truly as the camera department manager at a busy store. Lots....lots....of these went out the door for a good deal of money in the mid ‘70s. We Always had a “Demo” at hand and shot lots of film for free in the store.Btw check out the rolls of Kodachrome top left....oh Those were the days...

What store was this? It seems familiar.

Wow, that is a beauty, Pan. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Street Shootin SRT Bodies by Nokton48, on Flickr

I was out today with my SRT100 with the 58mm F1.2 MC Rokkor. Shooting Eastman 5231 Plus-X for me. I try to shoot the F1.2 wide-open. Otherwise what is the point? Rating the Plus-X at EI 50 overcast. Voigtlander cloth straps very stealth. Original SRT filter YG, SRT Diopter, SRT Eyecup, TomA Softies, Hairties, These are my two go-to's at the moment, 35mm F1.8 MC Rokkor and 58mm F1.2 MC Rokkor. Both cameras operate meters accurate run very smoothly. Good street shooters. Kangaroo skin on the left, red ringneck lizard on the right, from Cameraleather.

This 58f/1.2 looks gorgeous !

Thanks Pan.

The SRT-100 I bought new in the box from the local brick and mortar camera store in 1974. I was 15 and the body came with the 55mm F1.9 MC which is actually a great lens. I couldn't afford to buy any other lenses so i cut lawns and went down to Chick's Camera which was a busride downtown by myself. They advertised in the local Sunday paper photo page, Accura teleconverters for a low price. MC coupled!

Yes. On numerous hikes last year in the forested parks we have here, I had many opportunities to single out leaves and plants at f/1.2 and a high shutter speed. The results were wonderful. As expected, this lens also performs well at my favorite f/5.6 and f/8 apertures.

Minolta SRT Era Strobe and Flashbulb Meter 1 by Nokton48, on Flickr

Minolta SRT Era Strobe and Flashbulb Meter 2 by Nokton48, on Flickr

It is amazing to me how the old electronics in Minolta SRT's just always seem to work. This is unusual, the Flashbulb and Strobe Meter from the Minolta SRT era. Loaded with fresh batteries it reads accurately against my two Broncolor Strobe Meters (the FM2 and FM). Quite accurate for my uses and way way up there in terms of Cool Factor. Accurately measuring flashbulbs is something I'm not sure my Broncolors can do, but the Minolta handles it admirably.

This will now be a good user in my studio. Plug it in, put the incident disc where you want it, pop the flash, and hold the button while flipping it over. The screens and scales are on the back side. Deadly accurate I think!

In this case F16 is pretty much dead on with the Broncolors. Very useful and fun

That is a cool meter, Nokton48!

It's especially impressive that it still works, and that it's still accurate.

Did they advertise that meter very much back in the day? This is the first I’ve seen of it. Amazing!
