I just got the R2A, ran 1 roll of film through it, stated to rewind it and now the crank just spins. Is there a lock or something for it I missed? Am I missing something.

And before you ask, I did push in the release on the bottom before rewinding.:bang:

I'm not looking foward to sending it back for an exchange!

Was the film loaded properly on the take-up side? If you have a changing bag, or later tonight in a dark room, open the camera and see what's up with the film. It may be completely rewound, having never been wound on while taking pictures. It happens to the best of us.

Once the rewind button is pushed, the film sprocket should turn
freely in either direction, until the film advance lever is operated.

If the rewind knob turned only a few revolutions before the
resistance dramatically decreased, you probably didn't load
film correctly and shot a complete roll of blank exposures.
If so, welcome to the club... 😉

Nothing is wrong with film sprocket, its the silver shaft that goes into the film canister, empty it turns, place a roll in and it doesn't spin while i am turning the top crank

Mike...Mike...sacrifice a roll of film to be sure there is no major malfunction. Load it, wind through a bunch of frames, the do the obvious and open the camera back , hit your rewind button, and wind away. The film should come back to the cassette once the slack is taken up by the rewind crank. Maybe this is too obvious a remedy but it makes sense to me as the rewind function on your camera is strictly a mechanical function, not like on ...well, why ramble on here. Give it a try., Robert, Rperkdog@aol.com
