MM or M: Anyone debating which one to get?

MM or M, which one should i choose? This is a hard one, especially if you have a large selection of M lenses as well as others. From the standpoint of practical usability, the M will be hard to beat, especially if you own lenses like the Noctilux and want the EVF option in certain situations for critical focus. Also, you get a more versatile system for practical use, even in the studio with the new grip. However, if you love Black and White, the MM is very difficult to turn down. Most of what I exhibit 90%) is black and white, and I would love use ISO 6400 at f1.2 or f1.0 for some very dramatic dusk and night time street photography. The pixel structure or what some now call grain is really amazing with the MM. I am still using my M8 but am considering the M or the MM. I could get the M and probably have great Black and White and Color in one package, or I could get the MM, use my M8 for color, and get a NEX 7 or Fuji if I want live view with my Noctilux. So who else on this forum is in the same boat I am? Maybe it would make sense to buy a new MM and sell my M8 for an used M9 for color. That is also an attractive option. I am debating this because what I actually print usually ends up in black and White most of the time. So who has similar thoughts?

The MM is very attractive and with unlimited funds, I'd get both... But I think it is a bit early to determine having not seen a lot of images from the M. After seeing the images, will the IQ be that degraded in comparison? Will the increase in megapixels be offset any degradation. Will the dynamic range of the M be that bad in comparison? Lots of questions that can't be answered just yet.

I'll get both. I have the MM, which is either, a unique, and exceptional camera, or a waste of money piece of crap. Just depends, as you can see in this forum, what the pundits, fan-boys, whiners, luddites, photographers, non-photogragphere, good reviewers, and bad reviewers say! I like it a lot! Critique it's +'s and -'s, all you want. I'll read both. 😀

I have the M, on order, with the assumption that when Leica releases it, I'll like it.

To me the "M" is the NEXT STEP. That means it will be the M body where the future development happens, not necessarily the body, but add ons, video features, Studio shooting features, computer related features, and not the least Mobile phone connectivity. You see the camera bottom with the grip is where most of this happens. There will be "The things to come" all this because of the talks after the "das weisentliche" night.

For now I'm going with the new M-240
I'm sure in the future there will be a new M Monochrom based on the M-240.
But to be honest I really like the idea of built in filters more than the need for extra resolution.
