More praise for Youxin Ye!

Well, after selling off my M2 a few weeks back and then selling off my MP out of necessity last week I found myself cameraless. I thought about buying another M2, but after searching KEH I found a decent deal on a BGN M4. I've always wanted an M4 so I decided to get it. It showed up and it sure was in BGN condition! Scratches everywhere and a little dent in the front, but the VF was perfect and the speeds sounded great! I decided to play it safe and sent i to Youxin Ye for a CLA, just in case. He gave it a CLA, and replaced the advance, preview, and ST levers with M3 style levers. He told me the turnaround time would be 2-3 weeks, but he lied... he had it back to me in only one week! 😀

The camera is working great and looks pretty cool with the new levers! Two thumbs up for Youxin Ye!

For those that are wondering, since I'm sure someone will ask... the lever replacement cost a total of $50 using brand new parts (parts and labor). He kept my old levers.

The VF is almost as bright, the controls are just as smooth, rewind is probably a bit easier. The only thing I don't have is a meter, but I've never needed one. the MP was a total luxury, I don't miss anything by not having one.

I guess I just meant that a beat up M4 is not the same sort of luxury that an MP is! 😀

Right now its naked as I'm awaiting a new skin from Aki-Asahi. I had the new skin ordered before sending it to Youxin. He offered to remove the old, chipped vulcanite for no charge so I decided to take him up on the offer. Unfortunately Youxin was so fast the new covering hasn't arrived from Japan yet! I'll get a shot or two of it soon.
