Erik, nice S2. I have a repainted one - but yours have more of an authentic patina on it. I hope you are going to be using it?

O yes! I can't wait! It seems to be allright. My only problem is: how to carry it? I do not like a case, but I do not want to clip metal rings into the strap lugs either. Has anybody an idea?I hope you are going to be using it?

I made myself a strap using boot laces, that I tie to the lugs. Not fast for changing straps, but at least I won't rub the paint against metal rings or loops.

Several things:
Has anyone hacked the CV 15mm lens to Nikon RF mount? Just curious. If not, maybe I'll get that done one of these days.
Now the real comment. A fellow RFF member sold his S2 with 5cm f/1.4 to a friend of mine last week. The RFFer sent the camera to me and I took care the minor squeak in the helicoid. Now it's super smooth and awesome. So, the day after I received the camera I got to shoot with the S2 and it was very nice. Completely different experience than the Leica M bodies I'm used to. Winding was quick, precise, just perfect. The viewfinder was nice. Different, but the contrast was great. The only thing that threw me was the fact that focusing was backwards. I kept having to tell myself that infinity was the OTHER way. This actually led me to use the focusing wheel for most shots since I don't have the muscle memory and training in my right hand for focus like I do in my left.
I delivered the camera to my friend who purchased it and he's delighted. On his second roll now.
I concluded that while they are fantastic cameras to shoot with, unless I have an extra few hundred sitting around to play with, I'm going to stick with Leica. It's not a bad thing at all, just retraining my brain for use of the camera would take some time.
They are fantastic little machines though and I think some of the prettiest looking photographic tools ever made. I'll continue to drool over them but I've seen MY limitations with switching from Leica to Nikon and out on the street with both systems it's confounding. Ok, enough of that, back to the camera porn.

No, this picture is made with one of my other S2's (I now have three) a few years back. The effect of the Tmax100 film resembles a digital capture!

Beautiful Erik, congrats! Seeing this makes me miss my Black S3 2000. They're all such beautiful cameras and I still enjoy a great SP from back in the day.

Damn, Eric. These are mighty fine. Those two pix sent me to KEH to see how much a Millenium S3 is going for these days. Film and developer?

Time to give TMAX 100 another try

Erik: inspired by your picture, I have six 100-foot rolls of TMAX100 sitting on the kitchen counter. It is definitely time to try TMAX again! Thanks for the inspiration.
