My brain is hanging upside down...

Heh Grizzz, I too, have a similar problem, a quick check shows...

Voigtlander Vitessa - Rollei R3 - 24 frames left
Voigtlander Bessmatic - Acros 100 - 13 frames left
Voigtlander Vito CLR unknown film - 10 frames left
Voigtlander VF101 - Acros 100 - 34 frames left
Leica M3 - Acros 100 - 3 frames left
Fed 4 - Acros 100 - 11 frames left.
Vivtar 35ES Kodak EFS100 - 32 frames left

I'm gonna take the Vitessa, M3 and VF 101 out tomorrow & finish 'em

Yep - sounds very familiar. 5 frames to go in the M4, 10 in the 124G, half a roll in the OM2, and another half-roll in the Ricoh (Pentax mount) SLR.

My problem is I hate having a camera with no film - a great photo opportunity is bound to offer itself as soon as I've finished a roll, so I always reload straight away.

Yeah, I started putting little stickers on the bottom of my cameras noting what film was loaded at the time. Pretty smart, heh? So a couple of days ago, I'm getting ready to take a shot and I glance at the sticker on the bottom -- and paranoia set in... "Is that the sticker from the last roll? Did I put new film in after this sticker?" Geez, I'm an idiot.

And I have lost my mind. Does anyone else have this problem.... Half exposed rolls of film in to darn many bodies....

I see 2 clear problems here. I have to much gear and need to eliminate some good gear I'm not using. I am bouncing between equipment to much and need to just use one for a while and get better.....
Familiar situation, not all the time, but sometimes like right now. 🙂 I think it's from good intentions not carried out, a backlog of underused newer gear, maybe particularly bad now due to the transition from Winter to hopeful Spring.

I am going to shoot all of this stuff off this weekend.
That's an idea... Until then you can scheme and plan some projects that might result in some admirable photos. Don't want to just blow the film through the rigs without something decent to show. 🙂

After that I have decided to box everything up and hide it from myself for a while except for one body and lens. It's going to be the Bessa R with either a J3 or my new CV 75 on it. I have 10 rolls of Shantou Era I bought here from Bmattock here at RFF. I'm not opening the box till all 10 rolls are exposed/developed/scanned/played with and enjoyed for a while.

Once done I may do the same thing with an SLR.
Good idea. I do this too, much better than selling it off and then regretting it. And blowing a lot of money replacing it! I think it's fun to dig a camera out of storage for some exercise, and refamiliarization. This can happen as a result of reading something that makes me think of that gear...

😀 Definitely can be a problem! I do use the box-end slot if the camera has one, and careful to keep that current. If the camera is empty, I turn the box end over and write MT on it. What helps most in keeping track of what's in multiple-loaded cameras is that I open a new record in my film database when I load the camera. When I come back from shooting, I enter the subjects as best I recall and the date. I can look through the recent database entries any time to see what I've been doing with these loaded cameras. Right now there are 6 loaded rigs...

my secret. grizzz, is to have only one camera. That way, I have no choice but to use the whole roll, use the camera, use the lenses, etc. It keeps me on the utility-value edge.

Good news (for me)!

Inspired by this thread I can now report:

Bessa R2S - Empty. Shot the last 6 exposures of Fujichrome and DID NOT put a new roll into it!

F3 (upstate) - Empty. Shot the last three exposures of Kodak chromogenic and DID NOT put a new roll into it!

Still have to deal with F3 (downstate) and the Contax III but I've resolved to "empty" all my gear before loading anything new! *

* Of course I make these kinds of resolutions all the time...... 😉

Glad the post helped you get some film shot. Unfortunatly for me I forgot that this weekend was when my city opens up for dumping. I spen the weekend trimming trees bushes and what not. I had 3 pickup truck loads of stuff. and was to tired to shoot...... this week I'll do it for sure. 😉
