I fondled it at a local store that has one. I love it. I want it. I can't seem to justify the added costs from my existing panda version.

Life's a b!tch.

Surely yours is not panda? Things in dark colours look smaller: I don't find the black one appealing. And all that white text on top reminds me of a dishonest "genuine" black paint M2.

I've been away from RFF for awhile and was happy to see black X100s are now available. I'm not a big fan of silver cameras, a preference I've had for almost forty years.

Are all the US dealers holding firm on pricing at $1700? That's a heck of a premium over the normal version, even taking the included accessories into account.

I just received a gift of $500 out of the blue, so I splurged it on the extra cost of a black X100:

I had been hanging back waiting for the firmware to get sorted. After one day of shooting I am more than impressed. I had forgotten how nice an optical viewfinder is, after selling my R-D1 and M8 a while ago. Manual controls are great as well.

Cheers,
Kirk

What a pretty camera! I'm getting a black X10, but now I may have to get one of these!

I now have GAS and there will be no FARTS as this looks like something to take outside and play with ... very sexy camera and I'm going to start saving the $2190 required for a new black one here in New Zealand :bang:

Damn Handsome

I think I misused the "panda" designation. I meant the original silver/black one.

Regardless, I keep telling myself it's only color. I mean, would anyone be unhappy with a brown Ferrari?

(disclosure: a doctor friend bought a brown Lamborghini Diablo for a "smoking deal"...it was kind of ugly).

Wait, is the only difference the color? Seems hard to justify that added cost. Maybe for $100 extra, but $1700? Fuji must be crazy.

They really are emulating Leica in all senses...
