Well, today finished my first roll though my M6 and latest 50mm/2 Cron.
So far apparently managed to squeeze 4-5 images worth to show up from entire roll of T400CN.
You may wish to check them out: my RFF galleries.
This is my elder dauther...

may have some slight focusing errors on some - hope to get better grasping my RF skills.

Thanks, Alex

Hearty congratulations on your first photos with the new combo! I am glad to see that everything is in working order. Of the four photos you posted, the first is my favorite. Your daughter has deep dark eyes, and the light really captures them well.

Very nice photos - I like 2nd one the most. Looks like your cron and m6 perform very well, but I'm sure with the subject you had it was easy. Very cute girl you have.

Please, your pictures are wonderful. There are no focusing problems - she is beautiful, as is your technique. My children, at their most tender moments, make the best subjects.

Many thanks you guys for your kind words and warm comments.
In fact, this time I managed to obtain about 10-15% of worth to print images out of the entire roll, but bearing this is my first RF all ever it seems I'm on the proper way...
Must admit Leica in use is a real joy on its own...😀 (albeit I did not have the chance to shoot other capable RFs out there).
I'd like also to get my feet wet into a street photography to train my eye and reaction to the "decisive moment"...
Frankly, I have never felt street photography attractive to me, in particular with my large and hefty pro Canon SLR system, but now, grasping Leica in my hands I really feel a desire to get out to streets with it.
Of course, my family will remain my main subject to get photographed..😉

Regards, Alex

Alex,
I am in the middle of searching for an M6 myself.

First of all, your daughter is indeed a cutie 🙂 you are very blessed!

Since she's a cutie, it's easy for me to overlook the focusing of the pictures. I think in the first picture, the focus is a bit off, her face is soft, especially around her eyes.

I think the fourth picture has the spot on focus. Love that one!

Yup! Beautiful daughter, beautiful pictures. I like the second one best - very natural.

It's not quite as sharp as I would like it though... Maybe it is sharp and I can't tell due to the low resolution. It can't be the lens 🙂

You might like to try a slower film? cf.

http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/colinh/lea_2_1000.jpg.html

which I took on SPUR Orthopan UR (ISO 20) a very high resolution film,
developed in SPUR Nanospeed UR developer with a Contax RTS II, and
the Zeiss Planar85/1.4 (before I had the horrendous mirror slap problem fixed -
the foam padding strip had disintegrated and disappeared).

The scans were made on a Konica-Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 II at
5400 dpi (which results in 7664x5056 file (ie. 39 Mpix)) at 8 bits
per pixel. Going to 16 bpp doesn't make much difference.

Thanks guys.
Shadowfox - you're absolutely right, that picture I somehow missed the focus, shooting from somewhat non-convenient position and the kids rushing around chacnes I just turned the focusing ring on the lens accidently (I usually grip the lens from ebneath while shooting). lesson learnt (hopefully). But what I did like in it is her facial expression...🙂
Colin, many thanks also for your warm words, your daugther looks beautifull no less.
Yes, I noticed in general images where not as pin-sharp as could be expected technically bearing proper focusing and the kind of lens I use...😉.
Not sure why, there were few pictures I remember I definitelly misfocused, but not the majority of the roll. Perhaps the particular film gives such effect due to its smoothness (which is favorable for facial skin) ? Don't know..I'm sure it is not the scanner - I used to work with one for many years and it is reliable (knocking into wood) and precise machine (Nikon LS40)
Anyway, I now have Fuji Press 800 loaded to try color to B&W convertion technique and I know this film is sharp on its own (I'm quite familiar with him since my SLR days), so I will have nobody to blame aside of my shooting technique should I obtain less then sharp results.
Besides, chances I'm going to run a kind of informatl testing shooting a roll of fine slide with M6 on tripod - just to get my peace of mind....😀

Best, Alex

Ah, I have to set the record straight here. Not my daughter - but a friend of her's.
