Well I finally got my first Leica, a Leica II converted to IIIa sync.
I've been after a Barnack for sometime now, at last one turned up for sale at my local camera store.
Well here she is.

Congratulations. Nice camera and very nice photos. These cameras are not for everyone but if you can get along with them they are wonderful. I use a IIIc for most of my photos now and enjoy it greatly. Be careful, it's hard to own just one! Joe

That 50 Elmar is a fantastic lens. I took mine out for a stroll today, but on a Zorki 2. Maybe one day I'll find a real barnack to screw the elmar on to.

If that's a Leica sync with the delay dial around the shutter dial, it's really a II to IIIf conversion.

Did they add 1/1000 shutter speed?

It does have the 1/1000 sec. I thought it would be a IIIa sync as the body is still the older style. Does anyone know what parts they actually change when they do a conversion like this. Would be nice to know when the conversion was done.
