I got my lens in yesterday , and ran out while the battery was charging to pick up a 16GB SDHC card . So I managed to buy one that was defective, so I lost 100 shots 
I bought a enw one on the way to dinner, and I took this shot of my Daughter . her outfit really is Purple, and i think the pinkish cast is from the red menus and all the neon in the sushi place

Looks like you are off to a good start with your new M8u. Nice shot! What computer software are you using? You could correct the pink cast (if you want to). Did you shoot this as RAW or JPEG?

Do you have an IR cut filter on the lens ? Incandescent light is going to give you some odd color without a ir blocking filter. Congrats on your m8!
