Hello everyone,

I've read the forums often and now I have a reason to post.

Picked up a Bessa R2 and 50mm Summicron in a trade from Brian Sweeney.

i've put 2 rolls through and I'm loving the results, but still have a bit to learn.

I was used to split screen focusing on my Canon SLR and now I find myself using the lens markings for distance and DOF more then I ever thought I would.

I look forward to learning and getting better with the camera over time!

Here are two shots from my first rolls, I would love any criticism as I'm constantly working to improve.

First, Hi, and welcome!

Second: the two photos are interesting. You're off to a good start, but there's the matter of getting truly comfortable with this, which in a certain way is almost a different medium (but not really). It's also about thinking about why you decided to pick up an RF instead of an SLR. That, plus the usual "practice, practice" part of the process, will reveal more to you than any quick critique from me or anyone else. But, I'll look forward to more work from you.

Keep photographing, and asking questions. 🙂

Thanks for the reply Barrett,

I picking up a RF looking to use it primarily for street. I always felt too obtrusive holding a bit SLR and trying to get in close, and I've found it much easier (so far) to do that with an RF. I hope to keep practicing, learning, and improving.
