The SQ6 looks like the camera for you, Paul. Its 65.75mm lens is good for moderate wide portraits too - the 35mm equivalent focal length is about 32mm. Keep an eye out for specials - I found the "Taylor Swift" design screen printed SQ6 for USD$60 or thereabouts.i think i like the square format best with this kit.
Paul BH currently have it on special for $79, down from $129. I'd grab one at that price.

Corran that looks great. Thanks for sharing it.I recently got back into Instax and have been having fun with it...Kickstarted the Diana Instant Square years ago but it broke on the first pack. They replaced it and it's been fine since but just kinda didn't use it.
Anyway I've been experimenting with night shots to figure out the average exposure needed. Finally got it nailed down - 5 hours at f/11 with a ~half moon. Here's the shot:
