My journey with the LEICA MP

Well... At first I was looking for my second film-camera(first is OM-1n), for the colour film... I bought several of OMs, but none of them was as good, as mine...

And then... Some how, I don't even remember how exactly I found out about Leica... It was about two years ago... One year I was blubbing about how great would be to buy such camera... It was like hell... In Kyiv there aren't many places where I could even see this camera with my oun eyes. In only one shop there are several bodys and two or three lenses(50mm)... It is all the private collection of director of the shop, so I could only look at them like this - 😱

Then I have found (somehow) the russian RF site rangefinder.ru... There I found lots of interesting information to read about... And I could speak with happy ouners of M6 and M7... It was about half year ago...
There I also found out about this great RFF site... It was like Aliluya!!! Tonns of information... I was reading-reading-reading...

Then, I watched a movie, called "Secret"... It was something new for me, but also very familiar... So I got inspired, and started "producing" my wish or call it dream...

At that moment I had a little gallery (quite big) with photos of M's and photos made by them... And it was about two years that I was dreaming about it...
And after watching this movie, in two days, I have managed to find other money that I was missing for this marveless camera (the Great MP ofcource), and I hve found a great looking deal in the internet ebay...

It was a la carte MP, and it was almost the same as I was dreaming about in alacarte manager on the Leica site... The little differense was that skin was not ostrache, but lizard... It was in used like new condition with all pappers... In the box... And previous user was only couple of times shooting with it...

So... The decision was made, to buy... I delivered it to my relatives in Germany... And I was waiting to see it for about MONTH, or even more...

From Kyiv we (me and my family) on a car gone for the big journey... It was like Slovakia-Germany-Belgium-France-Germany-Holland-Belgium-Luxemburg-Germany-Slovakia...
To say that I have LOTS of impressions is like to say nothing...
I'm not the shooting machine, so I have only 5 or 6 films shooted...
At first place I need the lens... I have bought the tabbed 50mm summicron from Palec (BIG thanks 😉 ) in Slovakia, and the very the same day I had my MP in my hands... It was like Angels came down from Heven, and... The thing is, that it was quite amazing feelings...😱:angel:

And I hope that they will be not bad...

So, we have another Leica user... It's kind of hard to get used to rangefinder after OM slr... Because of my glasses, there was times that I had some double-image even when I wasn't looking in the viewfinder... But still I think that I like this camera like HELL of A lot😱

Yes, sure... Gem indeed...
It's a movie about how you must THINK to get closer to your dream...🙄 It's more closer to some show, where many different people telling about HOW they had thought to make their dreams come true...

It isn't my description actually, it's the words of my favourite photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson...

BTW, I visited his foundation in Paris...
It was, like we had 2 days for Paris... And I knew about somewhere in there is such a foundation of this Great Person...
So I get knocked all my family (5 people) to don't visit the museum of impressionsm, but to go "My way"... We walked from Siena, looking on the small map, and car GPS (my brothers toy🙄 )...
And then, after final turn... I was looking at the closed door!!! I was ringed and ringed...:bang:😱😕:bang::bang::bang:
I wanted for at list someone to came out, and explain me WHY it is closed?!... Because according to the work schedule, they should work... There were nothing like "Gone for vacation" or "Will be after 15 minutes"...

You can imagine how I felt... Looking to almost exhausted relatives, which I turned to go with me... 🙁
