Duane, congratulations. Nothing quite like receiving a Leica in the mail. The unboxing video is a genere still in development of course. A close-up would have been nice. Many don't know what that colour is really like in the metal (flesh.) Have you seen the spoof video by the M9-P and Noctilux owner? That definitely pushed the envelope on new camera videos. See three video links in this RFF archived thread.

Happy shooting. I love the lack of preview lever on the front of the ME. Classical.

That's pretty funny video. Now that I have one video under my belt I know I can improve from here.

Congrats Duane, 2013 will be the year I finally get a digital M too. And at the current prices, an ME looks like the best option when the full warranty is taken into consideration. Looking forward to see your photos

Here is Ikanagas's Monochrom unboxing. It starts better than yours. It don't finish so good:

His other new one is the incompatibility of his new Monochrom and Lightroom. Seems to be having some trouble downloading to his Macintosh SE!
I last caught up with this redoubtable hero in the trailer park where he claimed to live, showing off his trailer and his street. His Leicatime M9 case review is done sitting at a window overlooking an infinity pool and some beautiful island mountains in the distance. This guy certainly makes good use of his riches and spare time.

I perused his Youtube channel... and when he was rambling about how wider lenses lets you take bigger pictures with more megapixels, or that the viewfinder was done by a"Leitz company that is not Leica, but perhaps a similar company" I was thinking PRICELESS

Good thing I didn't do an unboxing video of my Monochrom -- I probably would have dropped it too!

Sure. I need to refold my flag first.

Isn't it less complex to use a mechanical film camera?
Enjoy our wonderful new camera. I hate having to read instructions for anything.

I'm sure it would be if I had one but since I don't the English portion of the M-E manual is 100 pages shorter than my GXR.

Little to say
Brevard?
Brevard?
Congrats on the new camera Duane!
Now, OT: I and friends, sooo many years ago, every Winter used to drive down to Brevard from freezing Illinois to spend a week climbing at Looking Glass. I was so taken by that town's friendliness that I came *that* close to moving there. It was one of those pivotal moments in life. Is it still such a wonderful town? And more importantly, is the Pisgah Fish Camp still in business?
Again, enjoy that M-E!

Taking the pictures is, getting them into a viewable state isn't. I speak as someone who just put two rolls of FP4 through Rodinal last night.
Hey, it's all for fun, isn't it

The Pisgah Fish Camp is still here in the same location! We've gotten a little bigger and the latest growth is the Oskar Blues Brewery is opening a new brewery here in town. Their first brewery outside of Colorado!
