My M8 Died Today.

Ooops. Leitz said it was a problem with the shutter and the transport mechanism.

Keith, I got the "shutter error" message on my M8 after about 6 months of use. Leica Solms replaced the camera.

You were lucky Howard. I guess what prevented them from replacing my camera, was that it was 15 months old. Leica in New Jersey did an excellent job of fixing the camera. It was still covered by the warranty. It now works better then new!
