Dear Ben,Hmmmm. Interesting. I would have thought that Canon and Nikon would have been closer in the poll. Any theories?
Ben
Because Canon stopped making mechanical cameras sooner? And welched on the lens mount? People here tend to like classics. Canon has made mostly electronic household appliances for years. Some off them are the size of refrigerators, too.
Cheers,
R.

I like your analysis Roger - I do think that an RF-focused crowd (forgive the pun) is more likely to be classic/backwards lens compatible friendly.
Does anyone else see these posts appearing on the forum as "1 minute ago" even after several hours?

I have Pentax 35mm and Digital SLRs: K10D, K100D, *ist, LX, MX(black and silver), Me Super, Super Program, ESII, Pentax SV. I love Pentax glass, Pentax controls, and Pentax backwards compatibility.
When I shoot MF, I have a Kodak Medalist, Mamiya RB67, and Yashica 635.
And I have a Monorail 4x5 with Scheider 150/5.6 265/12 convertible for large format.

Hi Ben,
That happens with polls every time someone votes: even without any new real post (text) the poll appears up in the general list as a recent activity thread...
Cheers,

2 Nikon F's with a selection of early lenses including a 2.1cm f4. I also purchased a Leica/Nikon adapter to use said w/a on my Leica bodies.
Best,

This is the one thing that makes me consider shifting to a Nikon DSLR and swapping my 1D MIIn for a D2Xs. Anyone done something similar?

Voted for "other". As long as 240 film is available I still use some Minolta Vectis S-1 bodies for macro, tele work or splash proof requirements. The digital equivalent RD-3000 is only used for indoor article images.

I just got into 35mm recently. My main RF is a Bessa R3M. I also have an Oly 35RC which was my first RF and first 35mm camera.
To complement it, I have an Olympus OM4Ti. DSLR is an Oly E-500. Didn't really plan on being very Oly-centric but turns out their cameras usually are pretty good bang-for-the-buck for a semi-serious hobbyist like me.

Pentax MX , Pentax Super ME, Pentax K5, and probably will be getting a Pentax67 or 67II for medium format seeing that they are such a steal today even when purchased locally...

35mm: My Leica M6 is my 'other camera' - it sees less use than my SLRs (Nikon F6, FM3a and Minolta XD7, SRT201). I really like the Minolta lenses.

Nikon: 35mm
My Pentax 35mm cameras (LX, MX, Super-A) I practically don't use anymore, but since the lenses fit onto Pentax' DSLRs I keep them. And my LX I'll never ever sell.
The Nikons also see little use, so I'm thinking about selling some stuff and buying either:
- a D700 to keep my Nikkors happy, or
- an Olympus Pen Lite or Mini with the 2/12mm lens as a replacement for my Bessa L + Snapshot Skopar 25mm street photography kit, or
- a 4x5 camera, maybe a Walker Titan.
A 4x5 kit is likely to be 'too' expensive, as I would need a lens, backs, a tripod, 4x5 darkroom stuff and what not beside the camera itself. Also for what I would do with it I have the Pentax 67 or the Mamiya.
I'm leaning a little toward the D700, but its successor should not be far away, and the Pen's autofocus is apparently very good/fast...
