The last couple years, I've been documenting, in my spare time, the overhaul of an old WWII bomber here in the St. Louis area. As the work neared completion, the editors at my newspaper decided to publish some of the work - tied to Veteran's Day.

When I look at the photos now, I see so many things I wish I had done differently. Still, it's fun to see it make it to print.

Good story Tim.
I hang out at Creve Coeur with the really old planes, helping to restore them. It's a labor of love.

Very nice presentation. Excellent use of photos. Loved the older dog -- almost looks like he was going to come over and take a nip out of you.
Too bad some of the WWII vets weren't available to do some voiceover.

Tim, you should title your audio slide show. Because if you want to submit this as a contest entry, the base URL of the <IFRAME> just shows the title as "AUDIO SLIDESHOW," and you'll want something more descriptive.
Excellent work. I enjoyed it.

That's as close as I can get to a really-really-really-green-with-envy smiley!
Sadly here in the U of K, I think our last airworthy B25 has just headed back to the States. The US may be its spiritual home, but you sold us a lot of them too - there were many RAF Mitchells, and many US ones based here. My dad was just the right age - old enough to remember, too young to be called up, and his tales of B24s, B25s, B17s, A20s, DB7s, A26s, B26s... and that was only the American ones - gave me the bug.
If you happen to come across a spare B25, do send it our way!

Tim, great work. It is a proud feeling to bring something like that back to like. I spent one weekend a month for 5 years restoreing a WWll submarine in Galveston, TX. No intentions of ever going to sea on it but a restoration to what it looked like inside and out for the visitors. great fun working with good friends and old shipmates.

Well done, I wish I could have been there when those engines turned over.

Thanks for all the comments and kind words. My regular job at the paper is writing about technology. So it's an absolute thrill to have them run some of my photos.

I liked the photos enough that I sent a pal who's a retired USAF navigator and aviation buff (but not a camera geek) the links and he concurs with everyone else's opinions on what a nice series you've done.
