My R is jammed!

Maybe hit the Repair forum for advice in getting the top and bottom off, it shouldn't be too hard (I've done it myself to all of my fixed lens rfs), just take it slowly and methodically, if you can't see the missing window, put it back together and off to the pros...

The bottom cover is much simpler to remove than the top one. If the problem proves to be the loose screw as in my poor dead Bessa L, the fix is within even the most hamfisted screwdriver operator's reach.
And if that proves not to be it, just put the caver back on...

The only thing to watch with taking the bottom cover off is a litte bit of light baffle foam near the battery hole than has to be there, so observe that as you take the bottom off and make sure it does not fall away.

I'd phone around and see if you can find somebody who specialises in repairing old fashioned camera.

I've had a couple of cameras repaired by Quiggs in Glasgow, it didn't cost much at all.

Some of the 'approved' repair shops charge a fortune.

Mine had only 5 rolls of film through it before the re-wind crank failed. I then had to wait three months to get it back.

I’ve read a lot about the quality of Bessa’s improving over the years, but they clearly still need to improve a good bit more.

Im happy to report my Bessa R is now fixed. Going to pick it up today after work. The film counter window got jammed in the film advance gears. So for about $129 I got it fixed as well as a CLA done.
Anyone in the area needing work done I found Zack's camera right here in Providence, RI. Here is a link. You can mail him your camera as well.
