My Zeiss finally arrived!

Thanks guys. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Here's the finished rig, ready to go, with Gordy's strap on it...

That's a nice rig David.

I have almost the same setup, with a gordy strap in exactly the same color. The only difference is that a Nokton 35mm 1.2 is mounted on my M6.

Thanks everyone. The Zeiss is very sharp, and contrasty, which I like. I'm dropping two rolls of BW400CN at the mini-lab today to see what b&w looks like with it. I'll be switching to Tri-X when time is not pressing (such as gate/shutter/meter tests).

That lens with Tri-X is a very nice combination. See my flickr stream for results I've got with it:).

Btw, which scanner do you use?

I'm using an Epson 4990. It does pretty nicely, especially slides or medium-format. I optically print most enlargements, though...the scanner is for web stuff.

I had a 4990 for several years until it finally gave up the ghost. I really liked mine as well. Unfortunately, I experienced board-level and lamp failure, and discovered that it was cheaper to buy a V500 than repair the 4990, although I did keep it. I may bite the bullet and repair it eventually, but at present am happy with the quality I get from the V500.

It protrudes very little, an insignificant amount for me, but you CAN see it. All in all, really a non-issue...it doesn't cover anything I'd put in that lower right sliver of a corner as a subject. Way outside a rule-of-thirds line.
