OK, let me make sure I've got this right.
I've got half of roll of 800 in my GSN that I was using for low light shooting. Now I want to finish the roll in the sunshine.
If I put a 2x ND filter on the lens and change the ASA to 200, that should work, shouldn't it?

If you are shooting 800 ISO film in GSN, you can only crank asa setting up to 1000 as that is the limit for GSN. Leave asa setting at 400 with the 2x neutral density filter. a 2x ND filter lowers light by one stop.

Oops, I meant a 4x ND filter.

That would cut the light by two stops, so resetting the ASA to 200 (from 800) would make the meter expose for 200, which is what is really hitting the film after the 4x ND filter.
I think I have to do it this way to shoot 800 in the sunlight. I can't control the shutter speed much and it maxxes out at 1/500th anyway.

thanks
