Hi all

I leave my V700 in my teaching lab; I don't have the room for it at home.

I've just come to scan my first film since the summer holiday - and found that the 35mm film holder has gone! I think an over-zealous cleaner has thrown it away :bang:

Is there anyone out there who has a spare they're not using that I could hire / buy / borrow? I'm in a hurry to get a few rolls done following a friend's wedding.

Longer term - does anyone know if you could successfully slot 35mm film into Doug Fisher's MF holder using the anti-newton glass to keep it in place? I've been tempted to get one for a while.

Cheers
Jamie

Ring Epson, they'll send you another for £10.

I keep meaning to order a couple spares to make scanning quicker.

(Last time I ordered a MF holder from them, I got it next day).

Ah - thanks, Kully. I spent a while looking at the Epson website but couldn't find a 'buy spare parts for your scanner' option - ringing them is the obvious thing to do, I suppose!

Whilst I'm typing - did I see in another thread that you've tried placing MF film direct onto the scanner bed with Doug's ANR glass to hold it down? Do you know if results are comparable with using his MF holder? I'm just about to order some 35mm ANR glass from him, and wondered if I should get his $90 MF holder at the same tme or just get a sheet of $30 MF ANR glass. I don't scan much MF, and I'm not fussed about how long it takes.

Cheers
Jamie

I have tried that, can't remember posting about it. It does work better for those negs that you really want to enlarge, but for 12x8 or 12x12 I just use the normal holder - and compress the buggers betwixt Magnum Stories for a few days :)
