Hi all,

I am on a South American backpacking trip and have been happily shooting on my mamiya until about a week ago when the cold weather down south started affecting my battery life. Now Iḿ struggling to take one shot at a time and with the most scenic leg of the journey ahead am desperate to find a fresh battery. I am in El Calafate right now and am headed to Puerto Natales next. If there is anyone on this forum living in these areas, or even anywhere in Argentina, and have any advice to offer on where to track down a 6v battery for a mamiya 7 I be forever grateful.

Thanks in advance for your responses,
Hudson

The Mamiya 7 uses a very SR44 or LR44 battery. Also known as 2CR1/3 or 357.

Make a note to never leave with any camera having an electronic shutter without a spare battery in with your film. And I mean leave the house, not leave the country.

Bob, nope. The Mamiya 7ii uses one 4LR44 or 4SR44 battery. Not nearly as common as regular SR44 or LR44 batteries.

I have a 4SR44 battery I don't need (sold my Mamiya 7ii) but I'm in Japan...

John: you are right, except your can use 4 of the SR44's or LR44's. I think you can use 2 of the CR1/3 batteries as well. it is also sold by GE as a CR2. I think Duracell calls it a 357 while Varta designates it as a v76.

I just looked in my Mamiya 7 bag and had to take the battery out of the camera to find which of the various spare batteries I had in there actually fit. It turns out I have 3 spare batteries.
