Need help identifying Canon leather case

It measures 3" x 3" x 2 1/4"
The slits on the side would be for attaching to a camera strap??

It looks similar to the later style leather case for the Canon (meter) Booster for the Pellix and FT models SLRs.

My Canon lens hood S-40 came in such a leather case.

This case is for a lens hood. For an S-60 (Standard lens, 60mm clamp-on diameter) perhaps.

The S-60 hood does fit in the case, but what is the divider for inside?

I think its a retainer. It goes inside the lens hood, so that the lens hood won't fall out if you unbutton the flap upside down.

I believe the leather strap is meant to hold a filter in its plastic case. I once got a lens hood and filter in a case like that, if I remember correctly.
