Negative M8 test in the field

That I would find two glaring design flaws in the camera within the first few days of use begs the obvious question: did Leica, the mainstay of photojournalists for 50 years, neglect to field test the M8 with working photographers?

After readying that it begged the obvious question is why does such an experienced photojournalist take a camera onto a job in a war zone no less without testing it or checking its specifications before he bought it?

Captain: I imagine this has already been talked about in the other thread, but perhaps the photographer who has been using leica for 20 years thought that picking up a digital version of a camera he loved from a manufacturer with such high status amongst journalists, would be a no brainer. I of coarse am just speculating. He put his faith in a camera system not tested to work in the very hard conditions he works in.
