Neopan 1600 vs. TriX & 800

I pushed some TriX to 800 or so after knowing that the Holgas fixed shutter speed would be giving exposures at least a stop slow. Rated some 35mm at 800 as well. developed both in Xtol 1+1 for recommended time at 400 and added about 50%. Did inversions every 1.5 mins instead of 30-60s. Got no streaking and excellent shadow detail. In low contrast situations, the 800 result was just perfect with no contrast issues at all. High contrast situations (such as neon signs and street lighting at night) usually result in poor shdow detail mainly because people (including me) struggle to meter correctly. I kinda went off neopan 1600 after deciding I did not like the grain pattern in most devs. Oddly, I am hopeful that it will be interesting in FX-39 to crispen it up. For me, I would use TriX at 800 and the a 3200 film for anything faster than that.
