Interesting sounding lens, and ditto with the 404...

BTW, I'm getting a 404 on the links to the lens pix above . . .
They've taken the page for the new lens offline. Perhaps it was not yet meant to be published.
Here's an ebay link so you can get an impression:

I am not affiliated in any way with the seller.

The best camera is one that still works!
So I gather the new 15 is no different optically to the old lens ... which no one seems to be able to fault! Making it rangefinder coupled seems a little strange to me ... the lens has incredible minimum focus ability which will uncouple from any rangefinder mechanism in any camera long before it gets there.

Thanks for the link yoyo!
Forget the focus, it takes a 52mm filter... Must have!

I really like the built of the new M mount CV lenses, and am OK paying a little more for this and the new filter interface.
And the bigger hood might keep my fingers out of shots.
Really cool to have this re-edition. And Keith, if you want high resolution (which you can get with the Heliar) RF coupling is useful, IMO.
Cheers,
Roland.

What kind of rear cap does it have? How much do the caps cost? Will the cap fit a 21mm Super Angulon?

Looks cool. I'm tempted to sell mine and upgrade. At the same time, I'm perfectly happy with the current one and shouldn't spend the money. So maybe I'll be rational.

HeavyStar on e-bay sells these excellent metal caps specifically for the Super-Angulon. They come in M-mount or screw-mount. They are very deep. I use them for my collapsible lenses. I can collapse my 50's and 90 Elmar all the way down with these caps.

If you are considering selling it, do it now. Once the M-mount version will be available lots of M8 users might want to sell their old Heliar. I bet the old ones will show up plenty and dirty cheap on the bay.

Yeah, but at the same time, do I really need it? The current lens is great - I'd only be upgrading to use a filter. The new lens is bigger too, which is a bit of a turn off.

Having been on the fence for some time about this lens, I have to say the new version nails my reservations, which mainly stemmed from the lack of a filter interface. It appears that the LTM version is a very compact lens and while I agree that the M-mount version is larger, the ability to add a filter more than compensates for a small increase in size.
And logically, with a filter added the hood really should be larger. Here's hoping the price remains terrific!

The ability to add filters is what would have me moving.
I wonder what else is out there?
Now if we could just see a Bessa L2A/M.........

I've checked with my local dealer. He said that it seems that the lens shall be available by the end of the month.

"By popular request this lens has been designed with an M-Bajonett-mount..."
I've taken a look at the thread on RFF that lets us ask Cosina for new products and innovations, but it didn't exactly come across there as much-requested.
But, I'll join in with the rejoicing (in my own sweet, non-conformist way):
"Ha! A 15mm M-mount, coupled Heliar! Terrific! That'll make the LTM ones cheaper!"

Yeah, the LTM one seems like even more of a steal now that the new one does not come with a finder. Pick em up while they last! Luckily for me I just got a Zeiss 21 and my gas is well tamed now.
Next up: M mount RF coupled 12mm lens
Or they could always reintroduce the 50 1.5 with 0.7 minimum focus in M mount...

That would pretty take care of everything I don't get w/ my M3 framelines now...

The link is dead now. Is there a new viewfinder out? I'm dying to know!
