I've always admired Jim Marshall's body of work, and when I found his 2004 book "PROOF" I ordered a copy. It just arrived, and it's really -cool- to see his tattered, marked-up proof sheet on the left page, and what he calls the "hero shot" on the right. Interestingly, he dosen't seem to make alot of duplicate images, with his Leicas. Often the "hero shot" is by itself, only one frame. Perhaps one is enough 😎 He seems to shoot more dupe frames when he uses his Hasselblads.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this book, I'd highly recommend it. Many famous RockNRoll images there. And you should see his camera stuff on the first page! Four --heavily-- brassed black Leica M4's, and a motorized R4a, all in an F2 Domke bag. Quite lovely and impressive in itself.
