New CV 50 VF technique

Recently, I splurged and bought a 50 VF to use w/ all my RF cameras w/ wo 50 framelines. I'm so happy w/ that move. Last weekend I used it for the 1st time and success!! I used my Model P and 50/ 1.4--focusing, then quickly framing thru the new VF. What a difference the bright VF makes. Now I'm happy as long as I don't lose the VF.

I may now buy a 40 VF for similar application on my compact RFs. BTW--all CV stuff is slightly cheaper here in Korea than Gandy. Why, I don't know but I'm not complaining.

I've never found the P's 50mm framelines to be problematic - but hey, if you're happy. Congrats! 😀

Using an external VF (even though I don't need it on a Leica M) really has allowed me to compose more creatively. Not sure why, but pre-focusing and then just using the VF is incredibly liberating way to shoot 🙂 congrats

My CV50mm ext. viewfinder is one of my most valuable accessories and I use it with several great cameras with not so great built-in viewfinders. Contax, Nikon S, screwmount Leica, even medium format folders.
