Connecticut New England RFF Summer Meet?

Rover and I have been thinking about a summer get-together / photography outing, something more than our usual coffee and camera talk in Connecticut. We've come up with Old Sturbridge Village as a possible venue, not only because it is photogenic (see Rover's gallery for some great photos) but also since it would be accessible for members in CT, MA and RI. Of course if you want to come in from Canada, you'd be more than welcome too! ;)

How about one Saturday in July? Bring the family along and make a day out of it!

I am pretty much available any weekend in July except for the weekend of July 8 and 22.

Anyone else interested? :)

I would be interested but with our new family member planning becomes more of a gamble.

Great. I am planning to bring my wife and kids.

If anyone has any preferred dates /weekends, please post them, so we can narrow the choices down.

I am good the weekend of the 8th, and one day the 15 or 16, I will nail down my plans for that weekend soon (my brother's birthday party). The 29th is the wife's bday, gotta be home for that one. ;)

How old? Your little bundle will have lots of eyes to keep watch over her/him.
 
I just changed the name of the thread adding New England thinking that will draw more attention from us locals.
 
The weekend of the 30th would work for me--I need lots of lead time to take a weekend off. Sounds like fun!
When I was a child, my family vacationed all over New England and my step-mom was then a history teacher so we went to all the historic places(I'm pretty sure I've seen every British fort from Maryland to New Foundland) those trips were fun, mostly.

I have a membership in a small marina in Chester, which sits at a lovely spot on the CT River with a Nature Conservancy preservation across from it. The marina includes a swimming pool & barbecue facilities.

If you're interested, I'd be happy to host the even & take anyone out for a river cruise with possible photo ops. The boat is powered with quiet electric motor, perfect for getting close to wildlife.

Sounds like we have two things to plan, OSV and a day on the river.

Huck, if there is interest, I can't see how there wouldn't be, would you like to plan a day in August and we can work around you.

Our daughter just turned 5 days old :D which makes longterm traveling plans I guess unpredictable, but not impossible. :cool:
So far no time to take RF pics so I cant post the digital ones.

Both sound like fun; maybe just the thing to re-invigorate my RF and film shooting. I'm available July 22-23 and 29-30. In August, I'm free 5-6 and 19-20.

You of course post digital shots of your daughter, we will love seeing them.

Yes, 5 days old, she will be traveling enough to meet family and friends, best for her an mom to relax and enjoy themselves for a little while.

How does August 5-6 look to everyone? July has a lot of good dates, but there are conflicts for some of us each weekend.

Disregard my prior post. August 5-6 is no good for me, that's the same weekend as the New England 24hr Challenge bicycle race.

Maybe I can get some nice shots at that event. The rest of you enjoy yourselves at OSV!
