Hi Mark welcome to the area. How do you like the weather so far? ;) Where did you relocate from?

relocated from central NJ
but i was in MI for 4-5yrs
the weather is freezing cold argh
stinks
havent been taking photos much..

I think they're cold in Jersey too Mark... Keep an eye on the NE forum, we may rouse ourselves to have a meet. Now it'll probably be the beginning of next year sometime with the Holidays coming up. By that time it'll be really cold! :D

You guys don't know cold ;) Come up here to the VT/Quebec border. -2°F this morning, and we're just getting started.

Winter is just setting in, no even close to cold yet. (I love Winter so don't use me as an indicator or reality on this topic.)

Welcome to NE Mark. We had 2 degrees F at my place this morning, but at least the sun was shining;). My cameras seem to take the cold weather better than my hands do. It's days like this when I'm most thankful for Luigi cases and the like.

Hey, I had planned on going with camera in hand to watch the Boston Marathon last spring, but cut out due to the bad weather that day. I am going to mark my calendar again for the 2008 Marathon., Monday April 21. I have not been too good with these long term plans, but that is a great event to try to meet at.

It was 20º in Boston this morning. It's not the absolute temperature per se, but the timing. It is early for it to be this cold.

Welcome!!!

I had a classmate in graduate school here who grew up in Minneapolis. She told me once that it was so much colder here than at home. I asked her if she was nuts. She said no, the combination of the higher humidity and winds made it feel, to her, much colder here. YMMV...

I lived in Dublin, Ireland for a number of years and it was "colder" there than here. Once again not the absolute temperatures, but the damp. The cold seeped into your bones and you couldn't get rid of it.

Ooh, like late October early November up here this year. Downright clammy. I usually don't mind the cold, but when it's damp even I shiver.

Hmm, sounds like it's cold back there. Almost makes me glad to be in AZ for the next week. The snow had it's try at thwarting my escape, but failed :)

Mind you I am sitting on a mountain at 7000 feet in the middle of a cloud at the moment... (hence bored so lots of RFF time, work kinda involves it being clear)

I too have looked at the stars there. It was May when I did it so the weather was better. :) It snowed this afternoon/evening in Boston. I drove to work today (unusual for me) and the commute home was a nightmare... :(

Mmmm... traffic was bad in Boston today. And it seems cold here now I think because it was balmy all last December.

Perhaps I'll be able to join a Boston meet, too.

We'd love to have you, and welcome to the forum benkelley! :) We have not had the greatest turnouts at our meets so it will be great to see one or two new faces. This also goes for anyone else in the NE area - these meets don't have to be in Boston, we've met in central Mass. and also Connecticut. We've not been to RI yet - there are lots of opportunities in our region. Maybe we should start thinking about a 2008 winter/spring meet somewhere...

A walk around Providence and lunch or dinner is a nice mob run Italian restaurant. Yummy!!!:D :D :D

As long as food is involved rover can be counted on to be there. ;) He inexplicably missed the last one though, St Anthony's Feast here in the North End. Maybe it was family stuff that got in the way. Families can be annoying sometimes...

Yeah, annoying, but I have fun chasing the boy around. I forgot what he booked me for that Boston day, I got knocked out of the Montreal experience too because he extended his summer and I was needed to take him on a field trip.
