Cool. I forgot all about Sam's digi.
We all had a great time. Rica and Mikey hung out with Sam. I showed my wife, Luisa, how beautiful and soft the leather was on Rover's Luigi case, but she caught on to the ploy really quick.

Good idea, Joerg. Maybe something in the shape of the Domke 803, so I can "borrow" it from time to time.

One of the funniest stories of the day happened when we were strolling across an old wooden bridge, each a few paces ahead of the other. A man in his sixties crossed in the opposite direction. He had an M6 with a motor winder around his neck.
The guy was eyeing Peter's M7, and second M body on the shoulder, then saw Rover a few feet behind, with an M3 and M6, followed by Joerg with a Barnack and ZI. When he got to me, he looked at the Hexar RF in my hand with a quizzical look, like "what the heck was going on?"

so, what did you'all have to say about me?
joerg, how was the using the zi? i'm heading out tomorrow for a day at our 'heritage festival' and looking forward to giving mine a workout.
and ray, i just ordered a luigi case for the incoming cl, this time with a wrist strap.
and rover has a new lens on the way and a new lens (the 35) on his mind?

Joe,
I love the ZI. Aperture priority is my way of taking pics and the ZI works like a charm. As Peter noticed it is also considerably lighter, which is areal advantage imho.
Only downsides are the missing 135 lines and the hard to read with glasses exposure time display, which does not bother me much because I (should) have an idea about the expected exposure.

another satisfied zi user...
i admit to liking the ae also and so far the meter has worked well.
i actually use it alot like my handheld in that i point it down to the ground, hit the hold button and shoot away.
do you have any of the zm lenses or are you using leica/cv lenses with it?

Good day, but bad for GAS. Handling the soft leather of the Luigi case and strap was a death touch for me. It would also help conceal the purple snakeskin, I think. J/K.
I ordered a Domke F6 when I got home.
Rover using his "dream lens" 35/1.4 ASPH is certainly asking for trouble.
And I think Peter is now looking for a TA grip to help him better handhold the 90/2 ASPH.

you're gonna love the purple snakeskin...really...and it looks way better in person than in my pics of it, less bright/flashy.
luigi...yes...you want one...

And it was nice watching people shoot. I always wondered what I looked like when taking pictures.

I'm back too! Great to meet Ralph and Sam, Ray and Joerg and both their families. Lots of photo ops at OSV today but it was hot.
Hey Sam, great pics! Your dad is doing a great job teaching you and now everyone can see what my 24mm and 35mm lenses look like!
Good story about the guy on the bridge Ray! I did have a peek through Joerg's ZI and that viewfinder is sweet! I was definitely impressed with the cam! Ray is right; the problem with these meets is you see something and you say "must have". I have an email to Tom Abrahamsson to send me a rapidgrip already. Both Ralph and I had Domke F-6's and were extolling it's virtues and look what Ray did...

Get this, I met Peter later before leaving and he forgot I was shooting his lens all day. I wonder how far he would have driven up the turnpike before he was calling with his address and mailing instructions?
