New Epson 4490's ?!?!

Does anyone happen to know why Epson and Amazon both appear to suddenly be selling new 4490's? Epson is also selling refurb'd units. I know for a fact Epson hasn't listed new ones for sale in their online store in a long time.

I just bought one of the 4490 refurbs last week. It's unpacked and ready to plug-in, at this point. I have needed a decent medium format scanner and I've seen that this one can fill the bill. Cost me $95 with the discount coupon, see the other recent 4490 thread here for more details on that.
