I was into photography for a while and let it go for a very long time. Now I am back to photography and figured in for a penny in for a pound and bought a Fujica gs 645 pro the little folder. I got in the mail the other day and it is the coolest thing. Does anyone else have one? Did I make a Mistake? Some of the literature I have seen says it has a light meter. Does anyone know how to make it work and can it be trusted? I'm going to get new batteries for it tomorrow. I hope that helps. Can it make double exposures and is there a bulb setting I didn't see? I hope you don't mind all the questions. I'm taking on vacation to Mexico and want to get as much out of as I can. Thanks for all the help in advance.

welcome Paul ... I don't have one of these cameras ... but hopefully this bump will get other members who might to help out.

again, welcome :)

Welcome as well. I don't have one of these ... yet :) , but if you go here: http://members.aol.com/dcolucci/fujirf.htm there is a link to a pdf of the manual which will answer all of your questions. The GS645 folder is the last one on the page.

Good luck & good light. I look forward to seeing what you can show us.

Thanks for the pointer. I just printed off the manual and can't wait to do some reading. I would still like to hear from people who have this camera. Some of the reviews I have seen are kind of mixed but lean toward the positive.
Thanks again:D

I was starting to regret my decision to get the folder. but looking at the paperwork the seller sent eith the camera it looks like it was sent out and has had the bellosd replaced. Now all I have to worry about is the linkage and all that other stuff that people hate about it.. If anyone has any good news on the camera please let me know. im starting to ger nervous.

Basically those are the two main problems - if you have one with a new bellows and are reasonably careful opening and closing it, you should be fine. The pluses - a nice form factor, built in metering, & a marvellous lens should make you very happy to use the camera. It is a modern folder and while they could have done better, they also could have done worse. Take it on your Mexico trip and give it a good work out and see what you think when you look at the chromes/prints afterwards.

I'll suggest that if you don't have a film already chosen, Fuji Reala CS 100 in 120 format is by far my favorite color negative film and can usually be found for much less than the pro emulsions.

Have a great vacation!

William
